Chanukah (חֲנוּכָּה‎) derives from the Hebrew verb "חנך‎", meaning "to dedicate". Known as the festival of lights it commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE. It is a holiday that celebrates the liberation from oppression and it celebrates miracles. Along with beautiful Chanukkiah you'll find many special items for this joyous time that begins on Kislev 25 and is celebrated for eight days.
